The second annual Cecil Hicks Funspiel was held on Saturday February 24th to honour the memory of Cecil with good curling, good company, good music and good food. Participating were over 48 curlers, plus friends, and family of Cecil including Cecil's widow, Vivian, who flew in from Toronto, and Four Corners who provided great live music. The third end of each four end game was played "with a twist", such as not allowing take-outs. Good to keep everyone on their toes and the mood light!
The curlers chosen as those who best represent the spirit of Cecil were Gloria Turner and Greg Estabrooks.
Congratulations and thanks to the organizing committee of Nick Portman, Al Smith, Linda Trenholm, Hugh Fensom, Lloyd Varner, Doug Key, Elizabeth Portman, Kathy Best and Jerry Ward for a most successful day.
